Union's Favorite Gathering Spot Since Sunrise

"I love this restaurant! My favorite restaurant in Union county! Especially on Sunday after church for the buffet!!! I go here every time that I am in Union on Sunday and their breakfast and lunch through the week is amazing also! I totally love the people who own this restaurant and who work at this restaurant they are personal friends of mine and definitely a family atmosphere!!!"

"We lucked up on the Palmetto Restaurant just in time to try the Sunday lunch buffet ahead of the crowd. It’s one of those restaurants that you will hardly notice unless you are looking for it. We went in and we were greeted by Alice, who explained everything to us. She is the nicest person! Everything on the buffet was hot and fresh, and all you can eat for $13.00! The fried chicken was the best that I have had since my mother passed away many years ago. The cubed steak in gravy was so tender that I cut it with a fork. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were freshly cut up and mashed, not some instant stuff like many restaurants serve. The macaroni and cheese was loaded with cheese and was utterly delicious. And the fried okra was much better than what we normally get, and we get it often in other restaurants. There were a number of desserts that all looked homemade. We tried the banana pudding, the chocolate pudding and cheesecake with blueberries, which was probably the best (but the banana pudding was a close second!). Tea was included with the meal. I was surprised at checkout to see the sign saying that they only accept cash or checks, no credit or debit cards. I missed it on the way in. Fortunately I had cash and didn’t have to wash the dishes or mop the floor!😄 There’s plenty of parking and it’s easy to find on Highway 176 bypass. We spend lots of money eating out and I think this was the best value, the best food and the most pleasant experience that we have had in a long time. I wish it were closer so I could try the regular breakfast and lunch menus. But if they are anywhere near as good as the Sunday lunch, you can’t go wrong! If I could give it more than 5 stars I gladly would!"

"The staff were very nice and inviting. They have a very good selection of breakfast items. The food was very good and it did not take long to get it to our table. There are refills on the coffee and tea but not soda. The soda comes in cans and must be purchased individually. The place has been part of the community for decades and the building does show some wear and tear. The owners, staff, and food makes up for the visual defects."

"Great homemade biscuits. The omlett was loaded with copious amounts of ham and cheese.This place has been here for over 22 years. The menu is simple and easy on the wallet. The ceiling had dirt and water spots and dirt hanging from ac fan. The waitress was busy but friendly. The milk had to be replaced due to foam on the surface at first but second glass was good. Thought the picture of the guys eating was a unique way to eat your food."
